Nimble-fingered volunteers in Musselburgh have been knitting a shoal of herring to set the scene for the arrival of a knitted boat at Fisherrow Centre.

The boat will be the focal point of an exhibition on the heroines of the fishing industry as part of the Follow the Herring project.

It will be staged prior to a performance of Get Up and Tie Your Fingers at the Brunton in May. Pictured are Esen Kaya, Alison Ashton and Clair Kingsman.
