Musselburgh’s fishing heritage came to the fore this week with the opening of a unique exhibition and theatre production.
A full-scale replica fishing boat – complete with a locally-produced knitted “catch of fish” – is the centre piece of the Follow The Herring display at Fisherrow Centre.
Running until May 9, the exhibition explores themes associated with the fishing industry and pays tribute to the “lassies” – and their tradition of knitting – who bound together the coastal communities of the east coast.
It also coincides with performances of Get up and Tie Your Fingers at the Brunton on May 8 and 9.
