Young photographers from East Lothian have won the top three prizes in a competition run by Miller Homes,

“An Address to Impress”, which ran across East Lothian, West Lothian and Perthshire, encourage five to 16-year-olds to think about what is best about their area and to capture it on camera.

The first prize went to Evie Gardiner (15), from Knox Academy, who took a stunning image from the back of her horse, called Mojo; the runner-up was Daniel Key (10), from Gullane Primary School, who captured a beautiful landscape of the local beach; and third was Ben Pickles (11), from East Linton Primary School, who photographed his first view of East Linton when he moved to the village six years ago.

The winners received Amazon vouchers worth £60, £25 and £15 respectively.

Professional photographer Mike Wilkinson, who judged the entries, said: “East Lothian has a beautiful landscape and it is fantastic to see budding photographers of the future picking up on the great natural beauty to be found there.

“It is always great to see the world from fresh eyes and the competition is a great way to inspire budding photographers.”
