MUSSELBURGH Athletic, East Lothian’s last remaining representatives in this season’s Emirates Scottish Junior Cup, reached the last 32 of the national competition with a solid 4-0 victory over Bellshill Athletic last Saturday.

It was the Honest Toun men’s seventh win of the season so far, with 36 goals scored already.

Musselburgh are away to newly promoted Sauchie Juniors in the East Region Super League tomorrow.

Sauchie will be seeking to bounce back from their own Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Beith last Saturday.

Only Haddington Athletic of the East Lothian quartet of junior football clubs lost last Saturday, but that was because of Dunbar United’s 3-2 win over the Hi Hi at Millfield in a top South League championship game.

Significantly, it was top of the South League Haddington’s first league defeat in 10 outings and it pushes Dunbar up into sixth place in the table.

Haddington can bounce back to winning ways tomorrow as they visit Arniston Rangers at Newbyres Park where again in the early season League Cup competition the Hi Hi won 3-0.
