Preston Lodge school pupil Shona Whillans continued her successful season by winning all three titles in singles, girs doubles and mixed at the U13 Midland Junior Badminton Championships held at Dundee International Sports Centre.

In the girls singles final she was up against Edinburgh’s Lily Farnood where she was always in control and won the title in two straight sets 21/14 21/14. In the girls doubles final Shona teamed up with Sarah Brogan (Longniddry) to win her second title 12/11 21/13 against Edinburgh pairing Lily Farnood and Rachel Lu. In the mixed doubles Shona and regular partner Glen Lewington (Edinburgh) won a hard fought three set match.

In the U17 event Ross High pupil Kelly Sands excelled to reach the final of the girls singles where she lost out to National squad player Holly Newall (Mauchline) 21/5 21/18.
