Ross High enjoy derby win

Action from North Berwick v Ross High

Action from North Berwick v Ross High

Ross High beat North Berwick 13-10 to gain revenge on their earlier meeting when they lost 18-7 in Tranent.

Ross High kicked off playing towards the clubhouse and came out of the blocks strongly attacking the home 22 but the home forwards won some decent possession and the backs moved the game up the pitch.

A penalty was conceded by the visitors and Mike Lewis opened the scoring after five minutes. The home side was soon on the offensive again and it looked as though Graeme Fairgrieve must score in the top corner but a last ditch tackle from Ross full back Ryan Hook saved a try.

From a scrum on the Ross High line, which North Berwick were driving toward the line, Ross High scrum half Barry Scott illegally stole the ball and was sin binned. Jamie Dove called another scrum but somehow the score didn’t come and the danger was averted.
