Ross pockets biggest snooker prize of his life

Musselburgh snooker sensation Ross Muir has confirmed himself as one of the sport's brightest hopes.

The Musselburgh Grammar School pupil moved another step closer to the professional circuit at the weekend with his biggest win to date.

Ross (14), of Edinburgh Road, walked off with the Under-15 title in the prestigious Junior Star of the Future Festival at Pontin's World Snooker Centre in Prestatyn, Wales, while fellow Scot, Anthony McGill from Glasgow, won the Over-15s title.

Qualifying

The tournament featured the top junior players from across the UK with 112 players in the 15-20 age group and 52 players in the Under-15 age group.

Players were split up into groups with four players qualifying from each group for a place in the last 32 stage.
