Robert happy to help at York

Longniddry Olympian Robert Blair made a surprise visit to the prestigious York Rio U-17 Invitation Team Tournament at the request of organisers Sue and John Foster as this was the first junior team event of 2012 in the run up to the London Olympics.

Robert was introduced to the assembled company at the beginning of Sunday’s matches, spoke about his experiences both at the Olympics and on the run up to 2012 then moved round the different county teams throughout the day to speak with and answer any questions from them.

Robert had represented Lothian threee years running at the York Rio event and thoroughly enjoyed being back. He brought photographs and some Olympic memorabilia to hand out in addition to encouragement for the youngsters to work hard to strive for their dreams in the game be it county, national, Commonwealth or Olympic achievements.
