A DEPLETED Musselburgh Amateurs squad emerged victorious over their hosts Whitson Star at Seafield on Saturday.
A screamer from Allan Cornet (believed to be his first goal since 2002) and a late goal from Craig D’Arcy secured a 2-0 win in a feisty encounter that featured four red cards.
The three points ensures the Amateurs take another step towards consolidating their place in the top flight for next season as their attentions turn to the biggest game in the club’s history this Saturday.
Facing Hurlford in the Scottish Cup quarter final will be no easy task, as the Ayrshire side are widely regarded as being the bookies favourites to win the competition this season.
The game kicks off at 2.30pm down at Pinkie and it’s hoped a large, local support will again turn out to get behind Musselburgh on the day.
