Preston Lodge crowned league champions

Their resolve was tested to the very limit but PL showed lots of character to stay composed and play solid rugby right to the very end of this tough away match at second placed Duns on Saturday, writes Johnston Craig.
And they were justly rewarded with a penalty in front of the posts that allowed the experienced boot and cool head of full back Greg Kinross to slot the goal with the final kick of the match to secure the 18-16 victory that ensured that Preston Lodge are the East League Division 1 Champions for Season 2011-12 and remain unbeaten in that league.
As they kicked off, PL were hoping to maintain an incredible record for the season where they have secured a try scoring bonus point in every game, but the confident looking Duns side had other ideas and they would ensure that this would be a very different game to any other that PL have played so far.
