Paul is best badminton Scot in Portugal
East Lothian's Paul Van Rietvelde put up the best Scotland performance at the 45th Victor Portuguese International at the weekend when he and England's Ben Stawski reached the semi finals before losing to Croatian pair Zvonimir Durkinjak and Zvonimir Hoelbling 21-15 21-9 in Caldas da Rainha.
The Anglo-Scottish pair went down to the second seeds after winning a gruelling quarter-final earlier on Saturday, beating German fourth seeds Maurice Niesner and Till Zander 21-18 10-21 21-19.
