North Berwick pair chase Bahamas bounty

A golf-trip-of-a-lifetime to the Bahamas awaits amateur Gordon Milligan and his North Berwick PGA professional Martyn Huish if they can come through the regional final of Europe's biggest pro-am competition, the Virgin Atlantic PGA National Pro-Am Championship.

Milligan (44), who works in financial services and plays off a handicap of four, took his first step towards a six-day, all-inclusive trip to Grand Exuma in November when he won his club qualifying competition with a nett score of 69.

He and Huish, who has been a professional at North Berwick for 12 months, now advance to Crieff Golf Club on June 29.

Another East Lothian pairing is amateur Weston Main and Paul Wardell, Whitekirk PGA professional for the past 11 years.

Main, a 43-year-old bathroom installer from Dirleton, has been playing golf for 36 years and plays off a handicap of three.

He qualified with a nett score of 70.
