North Berwick Golf Club is celebrating after securing a share of the Turkish delight on offer at the Lombard Challenge, a PGA Pro-Captain Tournament.

PGA pro Martin Huish and club captain Jim Shearer finished ninth in the 10-team event at Antalya Golf Club, Turkey, which carried a £25,000 prize fund.

The East Lothian-based duo carded rounds of 79 and 71 over the par 71 PGA Sultan Course for an eight-over-par 150 total. It earned Huish prize money of £1,500. The tournament was won by Shirland Golf Club from Derbyshire.

The Lombard Challenge, a PGA Pro-Captain Tournament, was launched in 1993, and features more than 500 clubs and golf facilities from across Great Britain and Ireland entering the tournament each year.

This was the second year that Lombard has sponsored the PGA Pro-Captain tournament. Managing director Andy Hart hailed the standard of play, the venue and the tournament.
