Nominations sought for national sailing awards

Will a member of one of East Lothian’s three sailing clubs or an instructor at one of its two regional training centres be honoured at the RYA Scotland’s Annual Awards - nominations for which close on January 7?

London 2012 Olympic Games silver medallist, Luke Patience, will present Scotland’s top coach, instructor, club, volunteer, young volunteer and outstanding female contribution to the sport, with their awards at a special dinner in Largs on Saturday, February 23, during RYA Scotland’s Big Weekend, the annual boat show that brings sailors from all over Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England.

Judging this year’s awards will be - twice Olympic gold-medal winning sailor Shirley Robertson, OBE; Mike Hay, MBE, British Olympic Association’s Head of Winter Sport Engagement and sportscotland board member; and Chris Tiso, CEO at Tiso Group Ltd.
