Musselburgh RFC's Willie Fleming on the attack against Edinburgh Academicals.

A cliche must be gotten out of the way at the start of this report. It was a game of two halves.

The first characterised by some excellent quick and sharp rugby from Accies and the second by Musselburgh turning up and showing some determination and fight sorely lacking in the initial period.

There were flurries of attack from Musselburgh but when Accies got the ball in hand they were quick to make progression up the field. It was prop Duncan Morrison who opened the scoring in two minutes touching down in the corner. He was in again from a pushover try following a lineout only minutes later. Neither scores were converted.

Scrum half Johnny Adams scored under the posts just before the 10 minute mark and stand-off Ruairidh Bonner slotted the simple conversion.

Nyle Godsmark was the next to score helping Bonner by jogging in behind the posts after another attack from the half way line. This was shortly followed by Accies No 8 Callum Reid taking a quick tap penalty from the back of a scrum to score a simple try 10 yards right of the sticks. Bonner again converted.
