The second half of the East Region Junior football season got off to a flying start last Saturday with almost a full programme played.

The mild day produced only one East Lothian victory with Dunbar United and Tranent Juniors both losing South League fixtures away from home while Haddington Athletic were held to a draw 1-1 at Pumpherston. The Hi-Hi’s 50th goal of the season in game no 19 with only Musselburgh Athletic notching a fine away 3-1 win over Broxburn Athletic in the Super League.

Tomorrow Musselburgh were due to entertain Kelty Hearts but the continuing saga of the Kelty Hearts v Penicuik Athletic third round Scottish Junior Cup tie postponed for the eighth consecutive week means that Kelty will still be involved on Scottish Cup duties leaving Musselburgh idle.
