Edinburgh 20 year old Lauren Millar receives the sportscotland Community Coach of the Year Award from sportscotland's Iain Kennedy and Samantha Langstaff at Musselburgh Sports Centre Dec 2012

An East Lothian-based coach has been presented with sportscotland’s Community Coach of the Year Award.

Lauren Millar, who is with the City of Edinburgh Trampoline Club, received the prestigious award, part of the sportscotland Coaching, Officiating and Volunteer Awards.

Lauren received a commemorative trophy, certificate and a cheque for £300 towards her development to recognise her achievements.

Sportscotland chief executive Stewart Harris said: “We are delighted to present Lauren with the sportscotland Community Coach of the Year award.

“Quality coaches are so important in encouraging young people to participate in, and strive to be the best that they can be in their chosen sport. Lauren has demonstrated the dedication and commitment it takes to develop sport in the local community and her work is having a real impact. She is a real asset to the community and to sport in Scotland.”
