Great games await - but it all depends on the weather

No fewer than four superb East Region junior football fixtures are featured in East Lothian tomorrow, weather permitting, with league toppers in action in games at Musselburgh and Haddington.

In addition there is East of Scotland Cup first round action on view at Tranent and a South League win for Dunbar United at home would see them edge into third top place.

For East Super League Musselburgh Athletic it’s a quick rematch at Olivebank against current unbeaten top of the Super League Linlithgow Rose, who, of course, defeated Burgh by 2-0 at Prestonfield at the end of October giving a serious challenge to David McGlynn’s men.

A second consecutive Saturday of competitive inactivity with the Honest Toun team missing out on top Super League fixtures with Bonnyrigg and last Saturday Broxburn leaves Musselburgh hoping for better weather for the league leaders’ visit.

The Burgh will again be at home in the Super League next weekend to welcome Lochee United before that last match of 2012 on December 29 at Hill o’ Beath. Both the Burgh and Linlithgow have played 10 league games each to reach the half way point of their respective Super League 2012/2013 championship fixtures but while Linlithgow have unbeaten amassed 28 points only five have been posted in comparison to the Musselburgh name. Burgh have just a solitary win to their credit while Rose have nine wins so far looking for number 10 tomorrow.
