Musselburgh Racecourse jumps back in to action on Monday, December 10, with a cracking race card featuring three £10,000 races and a £12,000 feature race.
The meeting includes an extra £10,000 Class 3 two mile steeple chase, put on in response to trainers’ requests because of the lack of opportunities for this type of race in the north.
And there is further good news for racing fans with Musselburgh confirming they will stage an additional fixture on Sunday, December 16, with further details to follow.
Musselburgh Racecourse general manager, Bill Farnsworth, said: “We have a very strong card on Monday with excellent prize money and it is the ideal way to bounce back from the disappointment of having to abandon last Friday’s meeting.
“The extra two mile steeple chase is in direct response to the concerns of trainers who feel there are few opportunities in the upcoming weeks to compete in a race of this class and type, and we are happy to oblige.”
