East Lothian sports project kicks off

If you are over 65, male, and live in the Haddington area, East Lothian Council wants to hear about your sporting memories!

As part of an innovative new scheme, the council’s Ageing Well project is working in partnership with the Sporting Memories Network to give the county’s older residents the chance to reminisce and share their own tales of sporting glory – either as a spectator or a participant.

The pilot event will take place in Haddington’s John Gray Centre, which houses Haddington library, a new museum for East Lothian and the county’s archive and local history services. Activities will include the chance to look through local and national archives, view photos of legends of sport from across the years, and for participants to tell the co-ordinators about their own favourite stars or teams and those special moments in sport that stay with them.
