East Lothian athletes take to the boards

Running on an indoor track is known in athletic parlance as racing on ‘the boards’.

Last weekend witnessed some excellent performances from both junior and senior East Lothian based athletes. At the Scottish Schools Athletic Association Championships, Dunbar Grammar and North Berwick High Schools were the only school to enter athletes. Elizabeth Musgrove (NB) won the girls’ O16, 300m title in 42.27s, having won her heat in 43.30. Jake Roulstone (NB) was fourth in the final of the U16 boys’ 400m in 54.31, He clocked 24.53 in his heat of the 200m.

Gemma Bolton (DG) was fourth in her 60m heat in 8.63; fifth in her 200m heat in 28.73 and cleared 1.45m in the high jump. Kate Boston (NB) was 11th from 29 in her shot put with a throw of 8.21m. Imogen Wilson (DG) also tackled three events with 8.83 in the 60m; 46.85 in her 300m heat and 4.25m in the long jump. Jordan Robbins (DG) clocked 29.38 in the semi-final of the 200m. He was seventh in his 60m heat in 8.99.
