County teams come face to face in league encounter

Haddington Athletic v Livingston United

Haddington Athletic v Livingston United

Two clubs desperately seeking a win clash at Foresters Park tomorrow (kick-off 2pm).

Tranent Juniors and Haddington Athletic meet in a top local derby clash following both outfits’ odd goal defeats last Saturday in the South League.

Haddington’s home 2-1 defeat to visiting Livingston United last weekend was the Millfielders ninth overall defeat this season so far and their fifth reverse in the league race as their promotion prospects begin to look under threat. The Athletic go into tomorrow’s game three goals short of no 60 in their overall 24th game of the season but the Belters have yet to see defeat from the Hi-Hi this season in two previous meetings.

Tranent won the early season League Cup clash at Millfield by 2-1 and also in the South League it ended at 0-0.

Striker’s full report and a round-up of local matches are in this week’s News. On sale now.
