Chance to enjoy free sports
East Lothian Council handed over the management and responsibility of sports and leisure services to a newly formed charitable organisation, Enjoy East Lothian Ltd, also known as 'enjoy', on Thursday October 1.
To celebrate, members of the public are invited to 'enjoyleisure' in East Lothian by attending one of the enjoyleisure sports centres' open days taking place across the county on Saturday October 3 between 10am-4pm, where you can come and visit the sports centres and try a number of sporting activities completely free of charge!
Each of the sports centres have developed a unique programme of activities to keep you fit for now, fit for the future.
On offer will be free bodyworks gym inductions, free fitness class taster classes, sports clubs demonstrations, free swims, free use of the facilities and the opportunity to meet and talk to staff about what youwould like to receive from your local sports and leisure provider.
(Some of the activities will have limited numbers, and therefore spaces will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.)
Facilities
Additionally each of the centres will be running a prize draw, offering the star prize of a year's platinum pembership, providing access to all of the sports centres across the county, worth over 450.
Stuart Currie, chairman of the enjoy board, commented: "enjoy is delighted to be able to offer residents and visitors to East Lothian a vast range of sporting and leisure facilities across the county.
"It is our aim to continuously improve and develop this service for the future, by reaching out and communicating with our customers to fully understand and respond to their sporting and leisure requirements."

Bill Axon, general manager of enjoyleisure, added: "The enjoyleisure sports centres' open day gives us the opportunity to really showcase what East Lothian has to offer in terms of sporting facilities and services.
"There's something for everyone, from toddlers learning to walk, run and play right through to senior citizens looking to keep active and move more.
