Alasdair Good from Gullane Golf Club, has been named one of the Top 50 Kids Teachers for 2007 by US Kids Golf.
Golf professionals, who focus on developing young golfers in their communities, make up the fourth annual listing of Top 50 Kids Teachers as chosen by US Kids Golf.
The Atlanta-based company manufactures golf equipment and develops instructional
programs and competitive events for kids.
The announcement came at the 2008 PGA merchandise show in Orlando, Florida.
Aladsair is the founder and director of the HSBC Wee Wonders, a tournament programme for five to 12 year olds where children compete by age group.
InductedHe is the first Scot to be inducted into the US Kids Golf Top 50 and will serve as the host professional for the first US Kids Golf European Championship in May.
Dan Van Horn, founder and president of US Kids Golf, said Alasdair and the other professionals inducted into the top 50 had made a "commitment to helping kids not only learn the game of golf, but also develop a love for the game that lasts far beyond their days in junior golf".
The 2007 list of top teachers was compiled from nominations from golf professionals and other industry representatives.
The selection criteria included success in organizing and administering youth programs, as well as teaching.
The top 50 list includes teachers who work at public, private, resort and municipal courses.
