Mary Anderson from Tranent already has a clutch of World Powerlifting records after her trip to the USA last year for the World Championships.
Last weekend in Bradford she competed in the British Single Lifts Championships, which is a qualifying event for this year's World Championships in November in Italy, and took the event by storm breaking no fewer than five world records in the process.

On the Saturday she achieved 150kgs in the unequipped squat and then five minutes later achieved another record in the equipped squat with a massive 195kg on her third lift.

Missed

She finished the day with a bench press of 87.5kgs and says she will tackle the record of 95kgs in September.

On the Sunday she started the day with another world record in the equipped squat with 112.5kgs and only just missed out at 117.5kgs.

Her final events were the unequipped dead lift where she lifted 190kgs and set her fifth record of the week-end with an amazing 210kgs for the equipped dead lift and again only just missed furthering the record at 220kgs.
