Tranent's 4-4 share of the spoils at table toppers Port Seton On August 7 means the race for the Division 1 title in the East Lothian Leagues will go right down to the wire in the final round of fixtures on Friday August 14.
It's a three horse race with second placed East Linton odds-on favourites as they entertain foot of the table Ormiston and six points will be enough to see them crowned champions for the first time in the new league set-up.

Tranent are the rank
outsiders in third place but could put East Linton under pressure if they can collect all eight points at home to Aberlady.

Port Seton end their campaign with an idle week and it seems certain their five year dominance of the top league will come to an end unless they get massive favour from Ormiston.

East Linton enhanced their title bid with a tremendous 6-2 away win at Castlepark while a magnificent last bowl delivery from Tranent's Davie Scott enabled his side to snatch a well deserved draw at title holders Port Seton.

Runaway

West Barns registered an excellent 8-0 win at Aberlady while EL Co-op's 6-2 away win a Macmerry was bad news for the home side as their stay in the top league is almost certainly at an end.

The race for the second promotion place in Division 2 will be decided on the final night with Elphinstone and North Berwick facing each other in a winner takes all clash to see who will join runaway champions Haddington in the top league next season.

Cockburnspath's 8-0 home win over Castlepark A saw them take a huge step towards the Division 3 title while the race for second is led by Tranent A.

West Barns A and Haddington A have both secured promotion from Division 4 and now the only issue needing settled is who emerge champions.
