Children in Elphinstone have been given a healthy boost to outdoor adventures, thanks to a major community fundraising effort.

A 12-month initiative by Elphinstone Primary Parent Council has created a trim trail and environmental improvements around the local school and community centre.

After launching a community day to clear and tidy the playground, do planting and paint benches and plant pots, the parents had a vision for a trim trail to encourage active and imaginative play.

The fundraising has allowed them to install a jungle climber, monkey bars, a tyre swing and chin-up bars as well as thermoplastic playground markings and nursery equipment, including a mud kitchen, water wall and weaving posts.
