Tragic Tranent teen was to carry Queen’s baton

Tributes have been paid to a young Tranent boy, who died in his sleep just days after being chosen to carry the Queen’s baton.

Kyle Wood was found dead in his home on Monday last week.

The 14-year-old Ross High School pupil is believed to have suffered a seizure.

His father, Scott (pictured with his son), later tweeted: “Just like to say thanks to everyone who has sent me their condolences on what has been the worst day of my life #sleeptightson.”

The shock news prompted dozens of tributes for the avid Hearts fan.
