Community councillors are strongly opposed to a town centre car park being used as a venue for a food market in North Berwick.
A group of five working mums, who live locally, are progressing the plan for the monthly event. Initial public consultation has favoured the car park location.
Talks have also been taking place with East Lothian Council’s transportation department before a formal planning application is lodged for the market which organisers want to keep close to the High Street.
The location was debated at the community council’s monthly meeting during which Market Place was one option.
