Long-serving lollipop ladies were honoured this week as East Lothian celebrated the 60th anniversary of the School Crossing Service.
Musselburgh stalwarts Isobel Adams and Margaret Watt – boasting 58 years’ service between them – were VIP guests at a lunch and awards ceremony held in Haddington on Tuesday.
The event was hosted by East Lothian Provost, Councillor Ludovic Broun-Lindsay, as part of nationwide commemorations.
It was the introduction of the School Crossing Patrol Act 1953 that saw lollipop men and women first take to the streets.
