DadsWork, a Musselburgh-based support group threatened with closure, has been thrown a lifeline.

East Lothian Council has agreed to provide temporary funding after failing to support the project’s application for £70,000.

Council Leader Willie Innes (Lab) said: “I am very committed to DadsWork and am happy to say that we have just had a very successful meeting with them, at which we agreed that the council would tide them over financially for the time being.

“We will be meeting with DadsWork again at the end of July to discuss a Service Level Agreement with us and help them to identify other sources of funding and support.”
