Work to combat coastal erosion

Waiting for Video...

Work is underway to prevent further erosion on the stretch of road along the coast from Aberlady to Longniddry.

Traffic lights have been in force to control traffic as workers put down stone from Markle quarry to restore the edges at the beach.

A spokesman for East Lothian Council said the stretch of road had suffered as a result of recent high tides which caused erosion to the road verge, and was in danger of impacting on the road itself.
