Colleagues and friends of a popular council worker have risen to the challenge, raising more than £28,000 for cancer charities in her memory.
Shocked at the loss of Vera Cameron at the age of 55, they embarked on the adventure of a lifetime – to scale Ben Nevis.
The highest mountain in the British Isles, it stands at 1,344 metres above sea level in the Grampian Mountains.
They were led by her husband Dougie and Ray Montgomery, Head of Infrastructure with East Lothian Council, who are both experienced mountain climbers and keen divers.
