Two men have been arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act after police in East Lothian recovered controlled drugs in Haddington.
Local officers conducted a personal search of a man in Florabank Road on Tuesday 8th July and found him in possession of a wrap of heroin.
He was subsequently arrested and is due to appear in court at a later date.
An intelligence-led search of a property in Carlyle Gardens was then carried out and a quantity of cannabis was seized along with 11 further wraps on heroin and a three-figure sum of cash.
A 24-year-old man was charged with alleged drug offences and will also appear in court at a later date.
Chief Inspector Andy Clark said: “Regardless of the quantity or the substance, the possession and distribution of drugs is a crime and Police Scotland is committed to bringing those responsible for these offences to justice.
“We will continue to gather intelligence through our community patrols and engagement with the public and will act on any information relating to drug crime within East Lothian.
“Anyone found to be involved in crimes of this nature will be dealt with robustly.”
