A plan for a 34.4 metre wind turbine at Nisbet Farm, Pencaitland, was narrowly turned down by East Lothian Council’s planning committee on Tuesday.
Eight members voted against the application from Fredoch Ltd and six were in favour.
It had been hoped to install the turbine on agricultural land in the countryside to the north east of Pencaitland.

Planning officials recommended that the turbine be refused because it would appear as a “highly exposed and obtrusive skyline feature.”
