Communities in East Lothian have been left “shocked and saddened” by the death of a talented young football player at the weekend.
Blair McEwan (23) from Haddington had joined Dunbar United from Haddington Athletic for the coming season.
Police Scotland said: “The body of a 23-year-old man was found at a property in Haddington at 1.30am on Sunday, June 29. There are no suspicious circumstances.”
Hours earlier, Blair, a commercial breakdown fitter with McConechy’s tyre and exhaust centre in Haddington, had been working at the company’s stand at the Haddington farm show.
Manager Derek Ross said: “Blair was a well respected and well loved member of staff. He first came to us on work experience from Knox Academy and has worked for us since he was 16.”
