‘Traffic chaos’ if East Lothian loses wardens

Iain Gray MSP is urging police chiefs to rethink plans to scrap local traffic wardens, claiming the move would cost money instead of making savings.

Police Scotland announced plans to withdraw the county’s two police traffic wardens in October as part of a £4.2 million cuts package.

But the move would mean police officers having to enforce restrictions such as double yellow lines, zigzag lines outside schools and deal with dangerous parking.
