Thousands flock to the first Puffin Fest

Scottish wildlife cameraman and filmmaker, Gordon Buchanan, officially opened Scotland's first ever Puffin Fest at the Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick.

More than 4,000 puffin fans descended on the Scottish Seabird Centre for Scotland’s first ever Puffin Fest at the weekend.

The event, which will run until Monday, May 26, was officially opened by wildlife cameraman and film maker Gordon Buchanan – best known for his BBC documentary series ‘The Polar Bear Family & Me,’ Springwatch and 
Autumnwatch.

Staff, volunteers, families and wildlife enthusiasts joined to celebrate the new event which features a family-friendly and environmentally-focused programme of activities that aims to inspire both locals and visitors to learn more about the much-loved birds. The importance of conserving and protecting our seabirds for future generations was also highlighted.
