Thieves target East Lothian homes

Police are appealing for witnesses following housebreakings in Longniddry and Musselburgh on Monday (December 30).

The first took place at an address in Glassel Park Road, Longniddry, between 1-6pm, when an Apple laptop, an iPod, two iPads and jewellery were stolen.

On Links Road, Longniddry, three Apple computers were taken from a property between 12.45-7.45pm.

The third incident occurred at Linkfield Road, Musselburgh, between 1.40-8.30pm, resulting in the theft of an iPhone, a Kindle, two Dell laptops, an Apple MacBook and gold and silver jewellery.

During the times these incidents took place, three men in their early 20s were seen in the vicinity, one being six feet tall and carrying a rucksack.

A separate report of a man seen running from a garden in Windsor Gardens, Musselburgh, was also made, although nothing appears to have been stolen.

The male is described as white, mid to late 30s, 5ft 8in tall, of slim build, with short brown hair.

He was wearing a short, grey jacket and dark jeans.

Police believe the incidents are linked.
