The family of a Prestonpans stroke victim has hit out at thieves who stole his mobility scooter – and with it his new-found independence.
Father-of-two Matthew Blair was “gutted” when he discovered that the vehicle had been taken from outside the front door of his home in Inchview earlier this month.
Now 54, the former painter and decorator was on holiday in Portugal in 2009 when he suffered a stroke which left him paralysed down his entire right side.
Unable to leave the house alone, he finally regained his freedom five weeks ago when he was gifted the second-hand mobility scooter by the Royal British Legion in Prestonpans.
