A family fun day is being held in Whitecraig on Saturday (August 2) as an alternative to the former gala day.

Residents young and old are invited to get creative and get along to the public park for 10.30am for the judging of a fancy dress competition. This will be followed by a parade through the village, led by a pipe band.

The programme in the park starts from 1pm, with attractions including a disco, face-painting, bucking bronco, pony rides, fairground, bouncy castle, inflatables and beat the goalie. Entry to all activities will be covered by the purchase of a wristband on the day.

As a warm up to the event, a programme of children’s races is being held in the park from 6.30pm on Thursday. The fun day organisers are appealing for donations for raffles, the tombola stall and the home-baking stall. Refreshments will also be available.
