A new long-distance coast to coast walkway linking Dunbar and Helensburgh is to be called the John Muir Way.
The name was agreed following talks between East Lothian Council, Scottish Natural Heritage, Central Scotland Green Network, the John Muir Trust and John Muir Birthplace Trust.
It honours Dunbar’s most famous son, the conservationist John Muir, who already has a route in East Lothian called after him. The local walk was developed by the council linking Fisherrow in Musselburgh to Dunglass at the border with the Scottish Borders.
