Recycling bosses in East Lothian are trying to source a new supply of seagull proof bags in a bid to keep the litter lout birds at bay.

Tom Reid, East Lothian Council’s waste services manager, was at the monthly meeting of North Berwick Community Council to outline plans to introduce a weekly food waste collection for households in the county from April 2015.

But the problem of seagulls rummaging in black bags in the town was highlighted during the discussion.
