Teachers from East Lothian are preparing for an aid mission to a school in Rwanda to improve resources for youngsters.
Claire Slowther, depute head teacher at Dunbar Grammar School; Sharon McPhee, a history teacher at Knox Academy in Haddington; Julia Waters, PE teacher at Knox who is currently seconded to Moray House teacher training college; and Karen Scott, a teacher at Kinghorn Primary School, will spend a week at Ruhanga School in October.
They will be joined by Claire’s mum Carol Milne who is not a teacher but is keen to work with the children.
Claire visited the school in May 2012 when she was working at Knox Academy. Her visit was arranged as part of the British Council partnership between the two schools.
