A man is to stand trial charged with storing live ammunition at a residential address in Musselburgh.

Paul Pattie, who has served with 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, on several tours of Afghanistan, appeared at Haddington Sheriff Court on Monday, December 30, charged with possessing the live rounds at a house in Stoneybank Grove, Musselburgh.

Pattie, whose address was given as Dreghorn Barracks, Redford Road, Edinburgh, appeared in person to deny possessing quantities of live rounds, drill rounds, marker rounds and a single 50 calibre round without holding a firearm certificate on November 29. The 36-year-old will return to court to face trial in May next year.
