A campaign has been launched to create a safe path to connect the villages of Drem and Gullane in a bid to avoid the accident stricken B1345.
The initiative is being spearheaded by Iain Monk, Chris Holme and Lachlan MacLean.
Spokesman David Kerr said: “This would provide a safe path for people to jog, cycle or just have a nice walk from Drem to Gullane and vice versa. Obviously this would provide a more environmentally friendly option for commuters from Gullane and Dirleton using the electric train line in Drem for commuting. This would make it a real possibility for people to have a zero carbon commute in safety.”
The proposed route was the public’s top choice amongst all East Lothian core paths in a public consultation and is backed by both East Lothian Council and Gullane Area Community Council. To support the campaign e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
