Longniddry and Disrict Rotary Club president Richard Greenough recently visited The Hub Special Needs School in Tranent to present a cheque for £500.

Head teacher Anne Cockburn thanked the Rotary Club for its generous gift and said she would be ordering “Step by Step” machines immediately.

These machines are used to help children develop responsiveness and communication skills.

Mr Greenough said: “The Hub has been supported by Tranent Rotary Club since its inception and, although the Hub is not in our club’s area, it cares for pupils from all of East Lothian, including some from Longniddry and district.

“So, we wished to include it along with all the other schools we support.”
