A man riding a quad bike was seriously injured when he plunged 30 feet onto the railway line near North Berwick on Tuesday afternoon.
A multi-agency rescue operation began at Fenton Barns and train services were disrupted for around an hour while the injured man received treatment.
The 36-year-old Network Rail contractor is believed to have fallen down the sheer face of the railway embankment.
