Pupils at Stenton Primary School took part in a Dragon’s Den style pitch before a panel of judges in a bid to win a national competition.
They reached the semi-finals of the Guardian newspaper’s challenge “The School We’d Like” which invites children to come up with an innovative idea to improve school life.
Two representatives from Stenton travelled to Newcastle last week to give their presentation. The pupil council had consulted and collaborated with other youngsters, staff and the community to come up with the idea of creating an outdoor art gallery in the school grounds.
Youngsters from the school are pictured at their Burns lunch.
