East Lothian Council

East Lothian Council

Taxi fares in East Lothian could rise by 10 per cent.

Public consultation will now take place on the hike which has been proposed by the East Lothian Taxi and Private Hire Association.

A fare increase of 10 per cent for 2013-2015 is proposed as part of the review of taxi fares.

Then for each additional 153.90 yards, or each additional 40 seconds of waiting time or for a combination of both time and distance, there would be a 20p tariff. Cancellation fees would be scrapped.
